L ~ Death Note

Image result for l and light

I got my L wig just a few days ago for this cosplay, and I think it doubles as a good Mikasa wig as well. Except, I plan on restyling the wig better to fit L more accurately, which will probably make the Mikasa thing not happen.
*Plus I left my 3D maneuver gear at home*

Not showing you my face since I barely put any make up on today and it's evening now so the little I had has disappeared magically! I bought this wig off Amazon and it came with the wig cap and one of those little velcro strips to ensure the wig stays in place. I've never used velcro with my wigs so we'll see how that goes. It arrived in only a few days because of Amazon Prime, so I'm not sure how reliable shipping will be for this product otherwise.

I'd love to cosplay with someone to be Light, but I'll just be a lil lonely L for now lol

COSPLAZA Cosplay Wig Short Spiky Black Heat Resistant Synthetic Hair

This is the original image from Amazon of my wig. It isn't advertised as an L wig, but it did come up when I searched for it and was the cheapest option. I plan on restyling it, which means I'm going to spend some time looking up tutorials and working with what styling products I have. I'm tentative about cutting it myself, so I may have some outside help for that.

The costume part is obviously super easy for L.

I'm just gonna wear the converse shoes I'm wearing right now as I type up this post with the costume. I know he goes barefoot in the show but I just can't bring myself to do that at a con.

Isn't he just adorable?!?! I just wanna give him little cuddles and happiness even though his character would so not be into that lol.

Here's some little chibis who would probably be down for cuddles. :) Where's my Light cosplayer lol.

Such a simple cosplay but there are so many cute poses you can do with it!

(>u<)/

I'm planning on wearing this cosplay to Anime Milwaukee which is coming up soon! Hopefully everything will go as planned. I'm so excited about becoming this character! I love him so much!

Just have to put it all together!

Top 5 *Video Games*

First of all, I suck at video games. Simple as that. I've thought about setting up a gaming channel just so people can see how much I suck. Maybe it'd go viral. I dunno. But, I still love to play them. I don't know why. So here's my top five favorite.

#5: Pokemon Go

I know it's the only one of these that's an app for your phone, but honestly this game is so incredibly fun. I absolutely adore finding all the cute little Pokemon, and enjoy discovering new ones every time I play! I know a lot of people have deleted the app from their phones, but I personally still play it and love it and feel that they update it often enough to keep it fun and interesting. I can't wait until they add mimikyu to the game! I've heard it'll come along with one of these updates. My personal favorite pokemon is obviously Eevee, but I also love collecting Jigglypuffs! I love the cute and happy nature of this game. :) Team Valor for life!!!

#4: Lego Games

Literally any Lego video game; I'm all over it. I own the Force Awakens one pictured, and I absolutely love it. It lets you play as virtually every star wars character in the entire galaxy, along with a fun movie-based story line to follow. I've also played some of the Lego Avengers: Age of Ultron game, as well as some of the Lego Lord of the Rings games. Video games are a thousand times more fun when put into Lego form.

#3: Disney Infinity

All the hype that went on during the release of this game is absolutely justified. It was one of the first video games I enjoyed, and I'm proud to say I own just about every Star Wars character available in Disney Infinity. I became SUPER good at using Ahsoka Tano, not to brag or anything. ;) I also have a few marvel characters, and Minnie Mouse, who throws her purse as a boomerang at villains and it's very cool. It's the kind of game that definitely conforms to the player. There are many different things you can do with the game, from designing your own home, racing, fighting villains, and following story lines that you can buy along with the characters, such as the Clone Wars story line I played with Ahsoka. It's such a fun game, and it's so cool to see all the Disney characters together in one combined universe.

#2: Assassin's Creed

Ok so I don't really know why I have this so high up on my list, considering I've literally only played it once. If I had had more time over Christmas break, I would have definitely played it more though. I'm so in love with the main character who you get to play as. Like, seriously, I have a major crush on this guy. That aside, it's such a unique pirating world where you can steer ships and climb all over EVERYTHING. Like, seriously, I'm always sad when there are places off limits to your character because they are too high up or too hard to climb or something. Not so with this game. You can go literally everywhere.

#1: Skyrim

I LOVE SKYRIM. I haven't logged a whole lot of hours, and part of this is because I lost my progress and had to start over. Still, I absolutely love the idea of immersing yourself in the story, and choosing which adventure you want to go on. I always play as a Khajiit, and I'm activating the Mage stone this time around (I previously activated the thief stone.) As a budding Dungeons and Dragons player and fan, this game is so good for getting ideas for roleplaying, and "roleplaying" when you don't have your squad of friends to do so with. The music is also absolutely gorgeous and is great background music for writing or doing literally anything.

Let me know what games you love in the comments!

*Top 5 - non Princess - Disney animated films*

I love talking about Disney films on my YouTube Channel and posting about them on my Instagram, but Disney Princess movies always seem to take up most of my time! However, I do dearly love other Disney movies that don't involve Disney Princesses! So, here's my list of my top five favorite Disney animated films that are not about Disney Princesses. :)
(These also don't include any Pixar films.)

#5: Bambi

This film wasn't actually a beloved classic from my childhood. Instead, I watched it recently and absolutely fell in love with the simplistic art style and portrayal of life in the woods. I live in an area in which I am very familiar with this kind of setting and wildlife, and was so appreciative of such an imaginative and delicate view of nature in big woods like this. Appreciating the natural life cycles and way of life for these woodland creatures is important in a world where we tend to take it for granted.
The story isn't just a simple love story of the animals in the forest, though, although that is definitely a part of the plot. It's about growing up and learning, and protecting and caring for your family and loved ones. There is also a message of rebirth and starting over after the fire destroys much of the creatures homeland. The music is also lovely, and paired with such beautiful artwork and prominent themes gently interspersed throughout, it's truly a masterpiece worth watching.

 #4: Lilo and Stitch

THIS. MOVIE. Ok so, again, I watched this recently instead of in my childhood. (what I was doing back then, I dunno, but it should have been watching this.) This movie is the cutest thing. I love how it's super weird in a lot of parts, and really random. I mean, there's aliens who crash in Hawaii, and Stitch basically become's Lilo's pet dog, and Nani (who is the coolest girl character in all of Disney history, fight me) is just perfectly fine with it all. Lilo is such an awesomely strange little girl who feeds fish peanut butter sandwiches and takes pictures of overweight people with suntans. Even though the film can't get any further out there, Disney somehow manages to tie it all in with heartwarming themes of the importance of family, no matter how small or different from the other "normal" ones it is. It's adorable, and not just because Stitch is.

 #3: Peter Pan

Once again, I watched this with the fresh eyes of my teenage self instead of my childhood self. Perhaps that's why I'm not sick of them like some other people are? Anyway, it is such a cute movie. It sparks adventure and fun into viewers, and maybe I have a teeny crush on Peter? Maybe? Just a little? ;) All the characters are a bit over the top, but it's a cartoon, so that's half the fun. This movie has been revisited so many times in many different films and books, but I honestly do like Disney's interpretation of it the best. It's a classic made to be enjoyed by generations.

#2: Hercules

Honey, you mean HUNKules ;D Also, AGAIN, I didn't watch this as a child. I watched it once, recently, and absolutely adored it. I watched it a short time after reading the Percy Jackson series, and I fell thoroughly in love with the setting and character portrayals in this movie. I'm not much of a purist, and don't mind when Disney changes the original stories that their movies are based off of. If they were literal interpretations, I feel that they'd be pretty boring. What I really liked about this film was the music, notably "I Can go the Distance." Even though this is predominantly a love story, it's also a story of embracing what makes you who you are, and pushing yourself to be the best you can be.

#1: The Lion King

Ok don't worry, I did actually watch this movie in my childhood. Over. And over. And over again. Trust me. It was, and still is, MY MOVIE. The music influenced a lot of my love for music today, and my obsession with cats. I have just about every song memorized lol. ;) The story is the most heartbreaking story in the world, with Mufasa's death (sorry but everybody better have seen this so I'm spoiling it) and Simba's heroic defeat of Scar. I even love and adore the second movie, which isn't the most common thing for me, a hardcore Disney fan, to do, as most of the second editions of beloved Disney films absolutely suck, let's be honest. But, the music and storytelling aspects in this film are the absolute bomb. It's funny, it's heartwarming, it's beautiful.

So that's it, my top five non-princess Disney animated films! Hope anyone who hasn't seen any of these movies will give them a watch, and maybe fall in love with them as much as I have. Except for Lion King. That one's mine. You can't love it more than I do. ;)

How to ~SURVIVE Growing Our Your Pixie~

When I went to college, I wanted to do something different with my hair, and so I decided to chop it all off into a cute little pixie. I absolutely LOVED it. It felt so light and free and it was super easy to style!!
Over time, I began to miss my long hair more and more, until I finally decided to let it grow out. Now, let me tell you, growing out a pixie cut is no walk in the park. Especially when you're in the floofy puppy dog stage like I am. The picture above is my hair with no styling. It isn't the end of the world, but it isn't the most wearable thing either. And I'm stuck with it. BUT, not to fear, if you're in the same boat as me, there ARE some ways to survive.

✨Here's what you need✨

This is some generic hair gel (I lost the label, so I'm not actually sure of the brand. I'm pretty sure I just picked it up at Wal Mart.) and Unicorn Snot from Bath and Body works. It's so sparkly and fun!

1st: Use the hair gel (a decent amount, about the size of a penny), rub it between your fingers, and then run it all through your hair. Make it stand up, pull it to the side, go crazy. It won't get stiff unless you were to use hairspray, but that's not the point of this tutorial.
2nd: Wet your hair and brush it, and I would recommend straightening it, especially if you're doing this first thing in the morning. Bed-head is ten times worse with a pixie, trust me. You can flip up individual bits of hair with the straightener for a fun, cute, pixie-like look. It's what I do.

Then you get to whip out this sparkly magic. I got the pink kind, of course, but there are all different colors to choose from. It is SUPER sparkly, and after you use it, you're hands will be sparkly too. :) You can also use it on your cheeks as a nice glitter. It's pretty versatile.
I rub it between my fingers, good amounts of it, and rub it all through my hair, styling it how I wish, playing with it over and over and getting more Unicorn Snot as needed. It's really up to you how you want your final product to look, and there's no secret. It's not as hard as you'd think.

And there ya go, here's my finished product! Pardon my face I was too lazy to put on make up for this tiny shoot lol. ;)

Super simple, but much more fun to wear! The sparkle lasts a long time, I've worn it through choir concerts and fun social events without it going anywhere. ;) Definitely recommend the product, it is such a lifesaver for me!!

Later, peeps 💓

I love them all but my favorite part is definitely the cute llama notepaper!
There are also adorable little pom-pom paper clips that go with it, but I forgot to photograph them lol
💗SO IN LOVE💗

From my family I got this amazingly sparkly sweater from the Disney Store!!
I absolutely adore paring it with little skirts and leggings!
I also got the Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino necklace I'm wearing in the picture! It's my absolute favorite drink ever, and not just because it's pink, it's also extremely tasty
!!!I LOVE THAT NECKLACE!!!

This is the lil penguin guy on my red blanket I've been using on my bed this winter.
It's so soft and warm, and I actually got it as a white elephant gift.

Top Five Winter Beauty Essentials

Top Five Winter Beauty Essentials

Hiya Peeps! I've got a few products lined up here that I just got recently for Christmas and I'd love to rave about them. I live in Wisconsin and it gets COLD which means red, itchy, dry skin which is not fun to deal with at all, let me tell you. These products work all times of the year, obviously, but I find them to be especially nice during the colder weather. Especially because they're all a lovely, cheery, bright pink color!

Ok so number one here is the Pink Cashmere "Ultra Shea" body lotion from Bath and Body Works. Bath and Body Works has some of the best skin products, in my humble opinion. The scents can be very strong, but I am lucky enough to not be sensitive to that. I do have sensitive skin, however, and try to stick with very basic lotions because of this. Surprisingly, this lotion doesn't seem to bother me, and it's pink and smells amazing!
Perks:
Super smooth and gives your skin that after-shower fresh feeling
You don't need much to moisturize your whole body after a shower
Isn't too expensive!
The scent sticks with you for much longer than other brands of lotion
Soaks into your skin well, so you won't feel sticky
Note:
It is strong smelling, and could easily bother people sensitive to scents. I don't personally have that problem, but have friends who have mentioned being bothered by the smells of these products.
Store: Bath and Body Works

This stuff has the same scent but I'm pretty sure it's a different formula. I use it on my hands every day to help with the cracking that's completely unavoidable in this weather. I literally have what looks like dragon scales all over my hands sometimes because of this weather, and this lotion definitely takes that edge off.
Pros:
Helps dry hands!
It soaks in really well, helps avoid that slippery lotion feeling (curse you doorknobs!)
Smells absolutely lovely, isn't as strong as the shower lotion
Note:
It isn't a miracle lotion to fix dry skin, especially a case as bad as mine. It could be a better preventative, perhaps, I haven't used it long enough to know.
Store: Bath and Body Works

The third product is one of my favs, and isn't just for winter at all. I just got it for Christmas and love it. ;) Lip gloss is my favorite go-to every day lip look, since it's simple and not over-the-top but still dressy enough to not look under-dressed.
Pros:
It's easy to apply this gloss over other shades of lipstick. You could totally experiment with it. I usually apply it to my bare lips, and it has a simple glittery reddish-pink tint.
It is quick to apply, basically like chapstick but with a little more work. ;)
Cons:
Disappears pretty fast, I always take it with me everywhere I go so I can reapply often
I know some people don't like that lip-gloss feeling, and this is definitely one of those that you're gonna get your hair stuck in (mine is too short to have this problem) but it isn't so thick that you'll find your lips feeling uncomfortably sticky
Where to buy: Wal Mart

And the next product is another year-round essential, but my new foundation is definitely something to bring up here. I wear liquid foundation just about every day, since my skin is very blotchy and I like to try to cover up my acne the best I can (come on, we all have the occasional pimple *ahem* beauty mark *ahem* here and there). Although this exact shade proved to be slightly too dark for me, it does cover pretty well.
Best:
Doesn't cause irritation, personally
Good initial coverage
Smooth, applies well
Worst:
Disappears about halfway through the day, NOT the 18 hours as advertised
Find the shade that works for you, and be picky about it
Store: Wal Mart

I absolutely ADORE the new cute hand sanitizer trend!! I've seen a lot of different types of sanitizers with cute containers that easily strap onto a purse or back-pack for easy storing while traveling. It keeps it right there and available when you need to use it while you're out and about. They're life savers as a college student, and it's so easy to simply whip one of these babies out before eating at the cafeteria or grabbing a snack somewhere. Especially useful during the winter season when so many flus are going around.
Pros:
So many different scents and colors to choose from! I got lots of pink and red shades, of course ;)
Some of them have glitter, and will leave your hands sparkly after using!
Fit easily in the travel cases
Super cheap
Cons:
They smell strong, and even though I like that, it can be rough on people sensitive to scents
Obviously stings those little cuts you didn't know you had...if there was a sanitizer that didn't do this, though, it probably isn't actually working ;P
Ok that's it for this post, later peeps! Comment with any questions :)
